DOLL's contract and consulting services are also based on our object oriented convictions; we provide consulting and contract services in the areas of:
We have significant experience in developing both systems and application code for OS/2, Notes, DOS, Windows, Windows NT, Genera and Unix. One of our specialties is in the use of object technology to interface between diverse data sources and clients. Included in this area is work with CORBA and OLE object integration technology, and use of Notes databases for management of Meta-Information.
DOLL is a Lotus Notes Business Partner, and provides help with planning and setting up a transition to Notes, on-site training, and Notes application development. We also provide assistance with integrating Notes into your distributed computing environment. DOLL has developed tools for linking Notes to traditional systems, including Client/Server databases and critical applications.
A large HMO needed to convert data from a legacy database to a new Sybase system, while continuing to use both systems in parallel. To assist them with this problem: DOLL designed a rule-based data conversion tool, with rules defining the appropriate way to convert data from one database to another. To manage data conversion, DOLL used its advanced, object oriented tools to interface to both client/server databases and Notes. Information about conversions and the business processes surrounding the conversion effort were automatically generated and stored in Notes databases.
Changes in where and how data was stored made tracking the data difficult for the customer's analysts. DOLL responded by using its object oriented tools to supply a Notes based data dictionary.
A separate effort for the same customer involved development of tools to download and upload data from a client workstation to a mainframe running DB2.
Our facilities and personnel are highly qualified to assist you in solving any problem you may have with Object Oriented Technology.
